Letter conversion table
Ц, Ч, Щ, Ё, Ю, Я, Э, Ъ and Ь are not part of the 2021 alphabet; the published correspondence is used for them.
Source and status
The alphabet comes from the draft Presidential Decree “On some issues of translating the Kazakh alphabet from Cyrillic to Latin script” of 21 April 2021, published on the Open Legal Acts portal. Ц, Ч, Щ, Ё, Ю and Я follow the table presented together with the 2021 alphabet.
The government hasn’t yet approved Latin spelling rules (how loanwords like “цирк” are written), so the converter works letter by letter. The transition deadline has been moved to 2031.
