Manrope, Unbounded, Jost: popular fonts that are missing Kazakh letters
We checked the files of almost 50 popular Google Fonts. Some designer favorites can’t set Kazakh — and it’s easy to miss.

We opened the font files and checked whether they contain the nine Kazakh Cyrillic letters and the Latin 2021 glyphs. The results were surprising: the list of fonts with gaps includes some that show up on every other landing page.
Partial support
- Manrope — missing Ә, Ғ, Қ, Ң and Ұ. The other Kazakh letters are there, which makes the problem easy to overlook.
- Unbounded — the only Kazakh letter it has is І.
- Tenor Sans, Wix Madefor Display, Russo One — missing most Kazakh glyphs.

No support at all
Jost has none of the nine Kazakh Cyrillic letters. Its Latin 2021 support, on the other hand, is complete.

What to use instead
Alternatives with a similar feel and full support: instead of Manrope — Onest or Golos Text; instead of Unbounded — Geologica in its heavier weights; instead of Jost — Montserrat or Commissioner. All of them are free for commercial use.
